Mongolian features. Travelling in overland style you
will visit the magnificent Amarbayasgalant monastery,
the crystal clear Lake Huvsgul at the beautiful Horidol
saridag mountains and the Tsaatan - Reindeer riders,
the picturesque Khorgo-Terkh National Park and the ancient
capital at Karakorum. The next half of the trip takes
you to the Gobi Desert - one of the most mysterious
places on earth and its wonderful sites: the Ongi monastery
ruins, Bayanzag the Flaming Cliffs, the Khongor sand
dunes and the Yoliin Am. And from the Gobi we drive
to the north through the steppes to visit the Tsagaan
Suvarga natural formations and the Baga Gazariin Chuluu
mountains and reach the amazing Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve
- a home to endangered wildlife and other sites on the

in Ulaanbaatar, city sightseeing: Arrival
in Ulaanbaatar, our guide and driver will meet
us at the airport and aid with check-in at the
central hotel. We take a tour of the city, including
the Gandan Buddhist Monastery, Museum of Mongolian
National History and Genghis Monument on the Sukhbaatar

2-4 |
Ulaanbaatar
– Amarbayasgalant - Bulgan - Moren.
This morning we drive to the north toward Lake
Huvsgul, break our journey in magnificent Amarbayasgalant
monastery and the picturesque Bulgan province
in the northern Mongolia. On Day 4 we continue
the drive through the forest mountains of northern
Mongolia to Moren, a small town in the north.

5-7 |
Lake
Huvsgul - Moren - Jargalant. A 4 hour
drive north takes us to the shores of Lake Huvsgul,
called “Mother Ocean” by the locals.
We spend the night at friendly Toilogt ger camp
by the lake. Day 6 is spent in leisurely activities
and sightseeing on Lake Huvsgul and its surroundings
- enjoy a half day of horse ride and visit the
Tsaatans "Reindeer people" and a half
day of kayaking. We drive to the south toward
Karakorum, the ancient capital. B+L+D |

Jargalant
- Khorgo Terkh - Karakorum. A drive south
takes us into the lovely Khangai Mountains, passing
through the White Bush Pass and stopping photography
as we make our way to stunning Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan,
surrounded by volcanoes and home to many species
of wild bird. We hike to the Khorgo Volcano and
other interesting sites in the park. On Day 10
we reach the lost capital of Genghis Khan at Karakorum

Karakorum
- Ongi - Bayanzag "Flaming Cliffs".
We visit the magnificent Erdene Zuu Monastery
and its surroundings then drive to the GReat Gobi
desert. Visit the Ongi monastery ruins and then
reach Bayanzag the Flaming Cliffs - the world
famous red cliffs that is a great site for dinosaur

Bayanzag
- Khongor - Yoliin Am - Tsagaan Suvarga. After
spending a full leisure day at Bayanzag enjoying
some camel ride and visit to a real nomadic camel
breeder's we continue our journey to the Khongor
sand dunes, the largest and the most beautiful
sand dunes of Mongolia, where we have the chance
to climb to the top for excellent views of the
Gobi, or to walk through the green oasis at the
base. Then we visit the stunning Yoliin Am Gorge
in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan national park and hike
on the Gobi glacier and view wildlife. Then we
drive to the north and stop at the fascinating
Tsagaan Suvarga - an ancient inland sea bottom.

17-19 |
Tsagaan
Suvarga - Baga Gazariin Chuluu - Gun-Galuut. We
drive through the beautiful Gobi deserts capes
to the north and reach Baga Gazariin Chuluu -
an interesting granite rock formation in the Middle
Gobi. On Day 18 we have a great leisure day in
amazing Gun-Galuut, which is located in the valley
of the Kherlen River. We hike to Mt. Baits to
view the gorgeous Argali mountain sheep and the
White Napped Crane, Whooper Swan and other birds.
Visit a nomadic family and learn their ways to
tend their livestock. Optional fishing or kayaking

Gun-Galuut
– Ulaanbaatar. Some sightseeing.
This morning we drive to Ulaanbaatar and transfer
to the hotel. Then we visit the Bogd Khaan’s
Palace Museum – the residence of the last
king of Mongolia and the Buddha Park. Enjoy a
traditional folklore concert and farewell dinner

Lake
Huvsgul - The Blue Pearl of Asia: Lake
Huvsgul, the second largest freshwater lake
in the world after Lake Baikal in Buryatia,
is popular for its pure water, awesome Alpine-like
landscapes, wonderful wildlife and the different
ethnic people living around it. Lake Huvsgul
region is a destination in itself and an entire
tour could be devoted to this specific part
of Mongolia.
Khorgo-Terkh
National Park is one of the most beautiful
national parks in Mongolia with its crystal
clear Terkh Lake and the Khorgo Volcano. The
nature beauty is awesome here and is a great
place for hiking, horse riding and relaxing.
You can visit the Hell of Yellow Dog, Ice Hole
and the Youth Cave that are pretty impressive!
The
city of Karakorum: In 1220 great Chinghis
Khaan declared it as the capital city of his
vast Empire. Today there are many interesting
sites left to visit; the legendary turtle rock
sculptures, Buddhist stupas and the ruins of
this once great city to name a few. Erdenezuu
- the 1st Buddhist monastery in Mongolia was
established in 1586. Today Erdenezuu monastery
still shows its glory with collections of many
priceless religious objects and incredibly beautiful
Mongolian arts. It has a massive square wall,
420 meters in length each side, 108 Stupas &
17 temples.
The
Gobi Desert is the most mysterious
place on earth The Gobi invites you to reveal
its secrets. This region is famous for its unique
natural formations, many places where you can
dig and find real dinosaur fossils, flora and
fauna not found anywhere else in the world.
There is plenty to photograph- impressive herds
of gazelles & sightings of the rare Khulan
(Asiatic wild ass).
Bayanzag
(Flaming Cliffs) is internationally
famous for its fossilized dinosaur remains.
Dinosaur nests with eggs were found here as
well as whole fossilized skeletons.
The Khongoriin Els sand dunes
extend along the northern side of Sevrei and
Zuulun mountain ranges. These dunes are 180
km long, 15-20 km wide and up to 200m high.
There is a small oasis near Khongoriin gol stream,
which flows along the northern edge of the dunes.
The scenery here is simply spectacular.
Yoliin
Am (Vulture's Gorge) is a narrow valley
located in the Zuun Saikhan Mountain range,
with thick pieces of ice almost all year around
hidden in its depths. This area is home to rare
animals such as the Argali (wild sheep) and
Ibex as well as Vultures and other large birds.
Gun-Galuut
Nature Reserve is
truly the marvellous combination of high mountains,
colourful flowers, pretty lakes, rivers and
wetland waters with full of waterbirds including
some rare and endangered species like the Argali
wild sheep, Siberian White Cranes, Hooded Cranes,
White-Naped Cranes, Whooper Swans etc. Argali
Wild Mountain Sheep is rare, endangered species
in the world. You can photograph herds of Argali
from the closest distance in Baits & Berkh
mountains.
