Chuluut
River has its source in the Khangai Mountain
range and flows over 600 kilometers, joining
the Selenge River in northern Mongolia and so
to Lake Baikal in Siberia. The main tributaries
of ChuluutRiver are the Tamir and Yeroo rivers,
which have their source in the Khentii and Khangai
mountain ranges.
Chuluut
River has numerous species of fish, such as
Taimen, Pike, Mirror Carp, Baikal Sturgeon,
Sig, River Perch, Siberian Umber, Roach, Bull
Ide, Golden carp, Amur Catfish, Gold Carp, Stone
Loach, Siberian dace and Burbot.
Hucho Taimen is the dream of every fisherman.
It is a huge and mighty salmonoid that grows
upto 1,5 m in length!
Lenok is a type of trout, generally around 15
to 20 inches they can grow to 40 inches in Mongolia.
Lenok is an exciting sport fish.
Grayling are plentiful in Mongolia's waters
and there are in fact four sub-species here.
There's some big Pike out there too, including
a rare species, the Amur Pike.

The
city of Kharakorum flourished in the IV-IX century
and in 1220 AD great Emperor Genghis Khaan declared
it as a capital city of his vast Empire. Many
other Mongolian Khaans continued to use Kharakorum
as the capital of the Mongol Empire. Today there
are many interesting sites left to visit; the
legendary turtle rock sculpture, Buddhist stupas
and the ruins of this great city.
Erdenezuu (One Hundred Treasures) was the first
Buddhist monastery in the Mongolian Empire.
It was established in 1586 by Abtai Sain Khaan.
Hustai National Park is where the wild Prezewalski
horses were brought from the Netherlands in
1993 to be reintroduced into their native land.
Here we are able to can see and photograph these
beautiful animals at pasture.

Mongolia: Mongolia is a unique fly-fishing
destination: a land of rolling steppes, rugged
mountains, verdant forest, and pristine rivers.
Our major species are: Salmon (Taimen), Trout,
Pike, Grayling, Sig, River Perch, Siberian Umber,
Roach, Ide, Bull Ide, Golden Carp, Amur Catfish
and Burbot. The Taimen is a particularly ferocious
fish which can often attain weights of 50 kilos
or more. The most attractive fish is the Taimen
(Hucho taimen) that reaches the length of 100-150
cm. The biggest taimen are more than 140 cm
in length. The most common fish is the Siberian
trout or the lenok normally reaching 50 cm,
in some areas even more than 70 cm. Not to be
overlooked is the exquisite dry-fly fishing
for Lenok Trout and Grayling; catches of 30
to 50 in a day are not uncommon. Darkhad Valley
is rich in different species of fish. The river
around camp is a fly fisherman's dream. Kherlen
river has 38 species of fish and Onon, Balj
rivers have 45 species etc. More than 15 rivers
are most famous and convenient to make fly fishing
in Mongolia. Touring in Mongolia is wonderful
and fishing in Mongolia is catch and release
with barb less hooks as it is one of the world's
healthiest and biggest fish population. The
best time of year fly fishing in Mongolia from
June or from very late August, September, October.
